Coraline Review

The movie Coraline was a stop-motion film directed by Henry Selick. It was inspired by Neil Gaiman's novel Coraline. The screenplay was written by Henry Selick. This movie stars Dakota Fanning as Coraline Jones, Terri Hatcher as Coraline's mother and the "other" mother, Jennifer Saunders as Miss Spink, Dawn French as Forcible, John Hodgman as Coraline's father and the "other" father, and Ian McShane as Mr. Bobinsky. The music was by Bruno Coulais. The Cinematography was by Pete Kozachik.

The movie Coraline is about a brave, little girl that moves from her home in Michigan and into the Pink Palace. When she arrives at her new home she meets a strange boy named Wybie, who she thinks is annoying and a waste of her time at first. While exploring her new home Coraline finds a small door that is covered by wall paper. When she opens the door there is only bricks behind it. Coraline is disappointed. When Coraline goes to sleep that night she finds a mouse in her room and follows it to the door that she found. When she looks behind the door she finds out that the door is really a portal to another world. The other world had everything that she ever wanted. The world had Coraline's "other" mother and father and her "other" neighbors, who were all nicer. After visiting the other world a few times she finds out that it is a trap set by the beldam. The beldam was Coraline's "other" mother. The beldam lured children into her world by giving them everything they ever wanted, and then she sews buttons on their eyes and eats their souls. When Coraline realizes that she was being tripped she decides not to go back to the other world, but the beldam kidnapped her real parents to get her to come back. Coraline goes back to the other world to rescue her parents and help the ghost children who's souls were taken by the beldam. In order for Coraline to rescue them she had to beat the beldam in a game. The beldam hid the eyes of the children and Coraline's parents. Coraline had to find them all i order for her to win the game. Coraline eventually finds all of the eyes, but she still didn't find her parents. Coraline tricks the beldam and finds her parents and escapes. The beldam was angry so she still attempted to get Coraline and make her return to the other world. Coraline and Wybie threw away the key to the door down a deep well.
Personally I think this was a good film and i would recommend it as a great family movie. It is good for children. It wasn't to scary for little kids and it wasn't to babyish for the older kids.

                                                            Background/Recap
This show was inspired by "the Grimm Brothers fairy tales." There are a few unexpected events in this episode. There was a few new characters introduced for this season that may come as a surprise to the people that watched the first season of the show. Other people that have reviewed this show have said that this is a great show and the comments that have been left on thosae reviews show that a lot of people are excited for future episodes and seasons to come. This show has been reviewed on many sites including buddytv.com, ew.com, nbc.com, tvguide.com, and many others. For the people that are new to the show, "Grimm" is mainly about a man named Nick Burkhardt, who learns that he comes from a family full of grimms. A grimm hunts down creatures that look like normal people to everyone else, but Nick can see them for what they really are. Nick tries to keep the fact that he is a grimm a secret, but it is hard for him to hide such a big part of his life from his friends and his fiancee, Julliete. Nick is also a police detective and he makes arrests on a regular basis, and some people think that it is a little weird that Nick is so good at his job, Nick's mother is a new character, and Nick thought she died, along with his father, when he was ypung, but she is also a grimm, and she thought that if she left then she would be able prevent Nick from becoming one. The introduction of Nick's mother is one of the major events in this episode, and the other big event is that Nick's fiancee goes into a coma, and the doctors dont know what is wrong with her. In my opinion, this is a very good show and I would recommend it to the people that were wondering.
